The accused is 25-year-old Shavon Ewan, otherwise called ‘Orchestra’, of Henley Road, Kingston 11.
Reports are that about 12:30 pm, law enforcers were on an operation in downtown Kingston when Ewan was accosted and searched, and the weapon was reportedly found.
The pistol and ammunition that were reportedly seized by a law enforcement team in downtown Kingston on Monday afternoon.
He was subsequently taken into custody and later charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
A date for his appearance in court is being finalised by the police.
