Pedestrian bridge connecting River Road and Santa Clara in planning stages
There are some who said they are worried a future bridge would lead to more homeless people in the area.

EUGENE, Ore. Plans are being drawn for a new pedestrian bridge to go over the Beltline and connect the River Road area with Santa Clara.
Shane Rhodes, project manager for the city of Eugene, said the project is still in the planning stage. Officials say they are considering the needs of North Eugene students. We want to give those students access to be able to get to high school without having to be driven or have to navigate a really dangerous intersection, and this would allow that, Rhodes said.
