At least 40 people, including cops, were injured in a series of clashes between the activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and police in front of the National Press Club after police foiled a protest rally yesterday morning.

Concerted efforts needed to uplift less-income people

RAJSHAHI, Dec 30, 2020 (BSS)- Depicting the importance of equitable society speakers at a meeting stressed the need for taking concerted efforts of all government and non-government organizations concerned for improving the living and livelihood condition of the less-income and marginalized people.
The present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to this end and all government and non-government entities should supplement the government endeavour whole-heartedly, they said.
The discussants came up with the observation while addressing the coordination meeting between Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and Brac Urban Development Programme (UDP) at the city bhaban conference hall on Tuesday.
Clemon cricket tournament begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Dec 12, 2020 (BSS) – Clemon T-20 Cricket Tournament began for the eighth consecutive time today amidst a colorful function.
Clemon Cricket Academy organized the tournament at the Divisional Women Sports Complex in Rajshahi City.
Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton accompanied by former captain of National Cricket Team Khaled Masud Pilot declared the tournament opened before a large number of cricket fans.
A total of 82 teams from across the country including Dhaka, Bogura, Pabna, Rangpur, Noakhali, Chattagram, Khulna and host Rajshahi are taking part in the tournament splitting into four groups.
According to the organizers , the game will be held in knockout method in next one month. After the end of the knockout phase, semifinal will be held with one team from each groups.
