2,57,587 citizens get COVID-19 vaccines in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 26, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 2,57,587 citizens of Chattogram city and district were immunized till today.
Among the vaccine recipients people 1,49,427 are males and 1,08,160 are females.
A total of 14,662 people were immunized with the COVID-19 vaccines in the city and district today.
“Among the vaccine receivers, 9,423 were male and 6250 female,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram district, told BSS.
“All vaccine recipient people are leading normal life without remarkable side effects following immunisation since February 7 last,” Dr. Rabbi said.
Among the total vaccinated people, 7,585 in Chattogram city and 7,177 in different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

from coronavirus rose to 31,246 in the district with the healing of 46 more
people in the last 24 hours.
A total of 31,246 coronavirus patients have so far recovered from Covid-
19 and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 92.66 percent in the
district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, said.
The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations
and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutives
real- time PCR tests were found negative, he said.
The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 33,727 amid

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 31, 2021 (BSS) – A total of four lakh 56 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccines reached here at 8 am today.
Divisional Health director Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir and Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi received 36 covered fridges containing the vaccines saying that these will be preserved in the EPI Stores for maintaining the cold chain until the vaccination drive begins.
As per the government decision, the district level vaccination will be rolled out on February 7 from Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
“Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel will inaugurate the vaccination campaign,” Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said, adding that the vaccination will be started in due time properly as per the government direction.

A total of 567 people who received their first doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca (Covishield) vaccine have been kept under observation for seven days before the start of a countrywide vaccination on February 7.
“We’ll observe the vaccine recipients of pilot vaccination for seven days and will start a nationwide vaccination programme on February 7,” Dr Md. Shamsul Haque, line director (MNC & AH) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), told the Daily Sun on Friday.
Some 26 front liners received Covishield vaccine in Kurmitola General Hospital on Wednesday when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the vaccination programme. And 541 others received the vaccine in five hospitals in the capital on Thursday under a pilot programme of the vaccination.

Ctg residents worried as no list prepared; vaccination training of health workers yet to start; frontliners to get priority
The Covid-19 vaccination campaign is about to kick off in the country, however, training of health officials, workers and volunteers in this regard is yet to start in Chattogram.
Not just that, such programme at district level, which was supposed to start on January 23 has been delayed. Asked, Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, said it would start in a day or two.
He said a total of 28 health workers and 56 volunteers would be trained up to conduct vaccination in 15 upazilas.
