The update shows that the number of road accidents in Bradford fell from 833 in 2019 to 709 in 2020.

Taxi driver who dealt diazepam from his vehicle jailed for almost two years

A taxi driver who dealt drugs from his vehicle has been jailed. Iftiqar Ali, who had been a licensed taxi driver since 2017, was caught with more than £10,000 worth of diazepam in February last year. On Saturday, Bradford Crown Court heard how Ali, 52, had diazepam tablets in his hand after he was stopped by the police on Shay Lane in Halifax on February 28 2020. Subsequent enquiries and a search of his home found a £10,570 stash, containing more than 10,000 tablets of class C sleeping pill type drugs, consisting of diazepam, etizolam and tamazepam. Ali was jailed for 21 months. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: A taxi driver who dealt drugs from his vehicle has been jailed for 21 months.
