Statement from the MC President: Appointment of Senior Vice President for Administrative and Fiscal Services – MC News

May 12, 2021 I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Sherwin Collette as the next senior vice president for administrative and fiscal services. Mr. Collette will replace Ms. Donna Schena, who is retiring at the end of next month. His first day at the College will be Monday, June 7. Mr. Collette formerly served as the associate superintendent for the office of employee engagement and labor relations at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). In this role, he has directed labor relations management and contract administration and served as the system’s chief negotiator with three bargaining units. Prior to this role, he led the information technology office of MCPS for 10 years as the chief technology officer. Among other accomplishments in this role, Mr. Collette drove the design of the district’s digital conversion through the

Central office staffers collect largest paychecks, data shows January 22, 2021 | 10:02 am The top 20 highest paid Montgomery County Public Schools employees all central office staff earn an average of $212,095 each year, according to school district records obtained by Bethesda Beat. The highest paid employee, Superintendent Jack Smith, earns $290,000 per year. In 2020, he declined a raise as part of his new, four-year contract due to the financial constraints caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Smith last week announced he will retire this spring. Collectively, the 20 highest paid employees earn about $4.2 million annually, less than 1% of the district’s overall budget. Eleven earn a salary of $186,500.
