Multiple agencies search for missing man for hours, finally find body near La Crescent May 25, 2021 6:02 PM Mike Tighe LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) The body of a 47-year-old man who had been reported missing Monday night was found at about 2 p.m. Tuesday near La Crescent, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Jason Moore’s family members contacted the sheriff’s office shortly after 11 p.m., saying they believed he had gone mushroom hunting but had not returned home, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies and La Crescent police officers went to the area on Chicken Ridge Road near La Crescent where Moore was believed to be searching for morels. They found his vehicle alongside the road and summoned other law enforcement jurisdictions for help looking for him.

The kayaker was identified as David Southin, 41, of Lawrenceville. Firefighters were called out to the Chattahoochee River for a reportedly missing kayaker around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Forsyth County’s Swiftwater team was already in the water and found a kayak without anyone in it. They called in help from Gwinnett County because the kayak was found in their jurisdiction.
