East Liverpool The city’s Civil Service Commission met for 10 minutes before administering the probationary patrolman’s test Thursday afternoon at the Community and Learning Center.
Members discussed the recently given firefighter’s test, which was passed by six people with five of them then going on to get certified after completing the fire physical course. No information was given in regards to interviews had been completed or an offer extended yet.
The commission also acknowledged receipt of the Memorandum of Understanding between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 29, concerning base pay rates for patrol officers. Council had approved the MOU earlier in April, which started new hires at $18.47 per hour by eliminating a Fifth Class Patrol Officer step in the contract. However, the union finally signed off on the document on April 27, after continued negotiations.

EAST LIVERPOOL The job of a firefighter is physically demanding. So most departments want to make sure that a candidate has the agility and endurance to do the job.
As the next step in the hiring practices to become a paid firefighter in the city of East Liverpool, the Civil Service Commission held a physical agility test for its probationary firefighter candidates Thursday morning outside Central Fire Station.

EAST LIVERPOOL In the past year since signing on the dotted line to see the former Riverview Florist property developed, city officials have heard little but crickets.
The East Liverpool Community Improvement Corporation met Thursday to consider a variety of action, including termination of the operating agreement that created the Riverview Business Park LLC, which had been signed in late February 2020 before the pandemic hit.

Allina Health plans to reopen the Buffalo Crossroads clinic, where a fatal mass shooting occurred in early February, but a timeline for doing so hasn t been released.
On Feb. 9, a man walked into the clinic and opened fire, killing an employee and injuring four others. Gregory Ulrich has been charged in connection to the incident, accused of shooting staff and setting off three pipe bombs.
Allina Health in a statement Tuesday released via the Wright County Sheriff s Office said, We will reopen our Buffalo Crossroads clinic because it is an important part of this community.
