ALEXANDRIA, La. â The Rapides Parish Sheriff s Office is searching for an Alexandria man in connection with a homicide that took place Friday at a local gun shop.
According to Sheriff Mark Wood, detectives have recovered a 2021 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, bearing LA license 468EKO, believed to have been used in the homicide at Liberty Arsenal on Friday, May 7.
RPSO says that Ramonte Lamar Jackson, 23, of Alexandria, is wanted for one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder in connection with the homicide.
Everyone knows the family, someone said. Some of those at Monday s meeting were related to them.
And all of them wanted to know why two men went into Liberty Arsenal and allegedly shot brothers David Paul and Michael Paul before fleeing. David died at the scene; Michael is in critical but stable condition in an intensive-care unit. Absolutely ridiculously senseless, Rapides Parish District Attorney Phillip Terrell called the shooting.
The Rapides Parish Sheriff s Office is handling the case, and Sheriff Mark Wood was to have addressed the group Monday night.
But, not long before the meeting s start with a dinner of jambalaya, detectives detained another suspect, one whose name hadn t been publicized like two others, after a chase that ended on Interstate 49 South at Broadway Avenue.
