SHILLONG: BSF personnel rescued around 30 cattle head, which were about to be smuggled out to neighbouring Bangladesh from the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya on Friday, an official in the Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters of the BSF said on Saturday.
Though the driver of the truck from which the cattle were rescued managed to flee, one other person was held by the BSF personnel. The total seizure was reportedly worth Rs 12 lakh.
