OSHKOSH – Winnebago County officials are unsure whether they will issue a new mask order after the Supreme Court struck down a statewide mandate earlier this week.
In the meantime, the Health Department is asking people to wear masks in accordance with a previously proposed order the County Board rejected in February.

OSHKOSH – Winnebago County residents will not be required to wear a mask indoors if the statewide mandate is overturned after the County Board effectively rejected the measure at least for now during a six-hour meeting Tuesday.
Board members voted 26-4 to indefinitely postpone the order to require everyone 5 or older to wear a face covering indoors if they re not in a private home or if they re with another person not part of their household.
The county health officer may bring the order back to the County Board for consideration in the future. If brought back, the order would remain advisory until the board votes on it.
