Residents of Shipton Gorge have raised £480 to raise awareness and provide a safe haven for hedgehogs. It will help provide a happy ending for more rescued hogs after adorable hoglets Eddie, Linda and Martin were nursed back to health.
The £380 cheque was presented to Chris and Pete Legg of Prickly Pickles by Chris Griffiths-Hardman The funds were raised courtesy of attendees at one of Shipton Gorge s community coffee mornings with £100 going towards the purchase of Hedgehog Awareness Road Signs and £380 to Prickly Prickles Hedgehog Rescue in Dorchester. Three hoglets were released back into the wild last month after being found cold and close to death in Shipton Gorge in April.

The latest plans in the Bridport area Three existing mobile homes for holiday use on a site at Pilsdon have become subject to an application for a lawful development certificate. The application to Dorset Council from Purcombe Farm, Batts Lane, also includes the construction and use of what is described as an ancillary amenity building. Forms submitted by Nicholas and Georgina Bailey say the certificate should be granted because the use has continue for ten years or more and the building works were substantially completed more than four years before the date of the application. The site is on the western side of Batts Lane about a third of a mile south of Pilsdon with Shave Cross further along Batts Lane to the south within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
