HEC, PASTIC ink MoU for Enhanced Cooperation - ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) at a Virtual Signing Ceremony in Islamabad on Monday. The Director-General PASTIC Professor Dr. Muhammad Akram Sheikh and the Executive Director HEC Dr. Shaista Sohail signed the MoU. The Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) Professor Dr. Shahid Mehmood Baig also graced the ceremony with his virtual presence. The ceremony was also attended by senior officials of both organizations. The PASTIC is engaged in serving researchers and professionals, with an objective to develop information repositories and disseminating them to scientists and researchers of Pakistan.

KP govt finally appoints VCs for eight varsities National December 12, 2020 PESHAWAR: Putting an end to the growing speculations about the process, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday notified appointment of vice-chancellor of eight public sector universities for a three-year tenure. The notifications were issued Friday evening after formal approval of the summary by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman Khan, who also serves as chancellor of public sector universities. The summary moved by the Higher Education Department after the list was finalized by the Academic and Search Committee was approved as it is by the provincial cabinet and then by the governor. Thus all the top candidates have been given the task of leading the universities concerned, reliable sources told The News.
