The city of Boise is planning to tear down and replace an aging downtown fire station as well as add an affordable housing development to the site.
Fire Station 5, located between 15th and 16th streets, across from Rhodes Skate Park, is about 70 years old. It’s the Boise Fire Department’s oldest asset, and it’s the busiest fire station in the state. BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police say they have arrested the driver who is accused of causing a fatal 16-vehicle crash on the old US 190 Mississippi River Bridge on Feb. 23.
Janaria James, 13, of Plaquemine, died as a result of the crash.
Marlin Jordan, 42, of Addis, was arrested and charged with negligent homicide on April 14 for allegedly causing the crash, authorities say.

Report: Louisiana s roads cost drivers $7.6 billion a year
Louisiana s roads are costing drivers $7.6 billion a year in extra vehicle operating costs, according to a new report from national transportation nonprofit TRIP, underscoring the need for infrastructure improvements across the state.
