Young Knoxville Bowlers Were In Every Meet To The End This Season

The Knoxville Bowling Squads were young this season. Just two seniors between the boys and girls but that did not stop the Panthers from contending in most of their meets this season. Coach Shaun Renard tells KNIA/KRLS Sports knew the scores may be lower this year, but their hard work and improvement was the most impressive thing he noticed about his team. Renard: “The talent we lost last year and the kids we had returning this year, we knew the scores wasn’t going be as high, but I’m proud of what the kids accomplished and what they did to end the year.”

Knoxville Wrestling and Bowling Head To Clarke

The Knoxville Wrestling and Bowling Squads will both be in Osceola tonight to battle Clarke. The wrestlers are coming off a 9th place finish at the Centerville Invitational. The Panthers will take on a Clarke Squad who is 6-6 in dual meets this season. Knoxville Coach Doug Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he feels good about his team knowing that his coaching staff has been keeping an eye on everyone. Hatch: “We’ve got Coach Westfall, Coach Ryder, both Spaurs, Cody Ray Smith in there helping and there’s a lot of eyes with my assistant coaches and that helps a ton.”

Good Progress For Knoxville Bowling During Early Season

The first part of the Knoxville Bowling season is over after the Panthers both fell to Bondurant-Farrar on Saturday. The Panther boys are currently 3-1 on the season while the girls are 1-3. Records aside, Coach Shaun Renard tells KRLS Sports he is very pleased with the progress this season knowing what the bowlers have had to deal with already. Renard: “I’ve been very fortunate this year that the group has been so dedicated on what they’re doing, plus they’re willing to not just take criticism but also take advice from coaches and their teammates.” The Panthers next meet is January 9th at Sigourney.

Knoxville Wrestlers 10th at Roland-Story, Bowling Falls to Bondurant-Farrar

The Knoxville Wrestling Squad returned to action at the Jim Kinyon Invitational at Roland-Story on Saturday. The Panthers finished in tenth place with 62.5 points. Knoxville brought home four place winners including Andon Trout, who won the 138 pound weight class. Other place winners were, Kade Bellon in fifth place at 145 pounds, Tristan DeJong fourth place at 152 pounds, and Gage Rowley sixth at 195 pounds. The Panthers are off until January seventh when they welcome Albia, Chariton, and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for a South Central Conference quad meet. The Knoxville Bowling Squads fell to Bondurant-Farrar on Saturday. The boys lost to the Bluejays 2,962-2,312. Kyler Reidel rolled a high game for the Panthers of 190 and a high series of 379. Coach Shaun Renard tells KRLS Sports with some many of his boys able to get a large number of pinfall each meet, it is a tough decision of how to set up the baker games.
