LAHORE: Former chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi and ex-members of the Board of Governors of the PCB Nouman Butt and Shakil Sheikh and others have slammed the decision of the PCB of handing over the management of provincial cricket associations to the Deputy Commissioners.
In a tweet message Najam Sethi said: “PCB has handed over the management of provincial cricket associations to the DCs. The bureaucracy cannot run cricket. It has already destroyed other sports in the country. Such disastrous decisions should be reversed and policy makers taken to task!’.

Sethi raised the question on Twitter, replying to a tweet by Shakil Shaikh, a former member of PCB’s Board of Governors (BoGs). Shaikh’s tweet was aimed at PCB’s decision to hire a new PCB HR Director, Serena Agha. Shaikh asked that why did PCB hire a new HR director at such a high salary when the former was doing the job at a much less salary?

The former Pakistan cricketer and administrator, Haroon Rashid, has revealed that players like Babar Azam and Hasan Ali did not get enough chances at a junior level due to the poor domestic cricket structure.
During an interview with Cricket Pakistan, Rashid, former director of domestic cricket, revealed how he made sure that Babar and Hasan play for another regional side.
Our domestic structure had so many issues that even players like Babar Azam did not get chances to play for Lahore and Hasan Ali for Sialkot in junior cricket. When I saw that, I ensured that they got a chance to play for Islamabad. You can confirm this with Shakil Sheikh, who was in-charge of things at that time.
