A youth died and another remained missing after a passenger boat capsized at Ghat No-12 of the river Karnaphuli in Patenga of Chattogram yesterday morning.
Lt Commander Habibur Rahman, staff officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard (east zone) told The Daily Star, After the incident, a coastguard team rescued 14 instantly, out of 15 passengers. With injuries, three people were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where one of them was declared dead. The accident took place around 8:45am when a wooden engine-driven boat was crossing the river from Patenga Ghat No-12 to Anwara, he said.
