ORANGE, Texas Vaccine hubs are downsizing their operations as the demand decreases, but health and county leaders said the renewed spread is sparking major concerns for them.
Orange County got its first confirmed case of the highly contagious Delta variant Wednesday. The person is not hospitalized but is being treated at Houston Methodist.
At health departments across Southeast Texas, there is a trend that raises cause for concern. My concern comes from the low vaccination rate and the number of people who have not been vaccinated. I m very, very concerned, said Beaumont Public Health Director Kenneth Coleman.
How one Facebook group is helping people find vaccines for loved ones

HOUSTON – A Facebook group known as Vaccinate Houston is helping people find vaccines for their loved ones.
“We’re allowing everyone in who agrees to the rules,” said Laurie DesAutels, creator of Vaccinate Houston- COVID-19 Vaccine Updates. “It started as something small and now it’s becoming something where people are helping each other. I’m not really doing much.”
DesAutels said she started the group over concern about getting the vaccine for her 74-year old mother vaccinated, but it’s turned into a group that as of Monday has nearly 13,000 members.

KOUNTZE, Texas The Hardin County Health Department teamed up with the First United Methodist Church in Kountze to Pack the Church Bus and give senior citizens a chance to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
Many residents in Hardin County expressed relief after receiving the coronavirus vaccine Sunday.
Travis Dunkin was one of the people who was vaccinated. He said it was a simple, quick and easy process.
