A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a woman found dead inside her home Wednesday afternoon, Jackson Police Department officials said.
Officer Sam Brown said police arrested Aaron Ellis Thursday morning.
According to a tweet by the department, officers were called to the 500 block of Badger Drive at noon where a woman appeared to have been assaulted.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart identified the woman as Regina Bell, 38.

Jackson police are investigating a double homicide that happened before midnight on New Year s Eve.
According to Officer Sam Brown, two men shot each other on Hair Street around 11 p.m.. Both men died from their injuries.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart identified the men as Walter Hawkins, 33, and Cedric Mosley, 45.
Police said the shooting stemmed from a prior dispute between Hawkins and Mosley. Witnesses told police that Mosley confronted Hawkins, who was sitting in a car with two women, about a robbery and aggravated assault from the week earlier.
