SRINAGAR: A woman was detained at the Srinagar airport after an empty Ak-47 cartridge was recovered from her baggage during X-ray checking, officials said.
A police official told news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a woman identified as Shabeena Akther W/O Muneer Ahmad Bhat R/O Hayatpora, Chadoora at present residing in Hotel Mareen Resort Humhamma, a defeated Candidate DDC, Chadooram, was traveling from Srinagar to Chandigarh by Indigo flight 6E 6041.
“During X-ray baggage checking at Airport drop gate one empty AK 47 cartridge was recovered from her 18 month old child’s bag. The woman was handed over to Police Station Humhama for further investigation,” the official said.
Kupwara: A woman was killed and three other members of her family were injured in an accident in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.
As per reports, the accident took place in Potushie near JNV School when a vehicle (JK09B-3517) they were travelling in fell into a nallah after the driver lost control allegedly due to slippery road condition.
The woman Zoona Begum wife of Abdul Khaliq died on the spot while three others Naseer Ahmad, his wife Jameela Begum and other woman Shabeena Akther were injured and were shifted to Sub District Hospital Kupwara.
A police officer also confirmed the accident and said that a case has been registered in this regard. (GNS)
