NRL star Bryce Cartwright has split from his anti-vaxxer wife Shanelle just months after walking away from a $450,000-a-season contract on the Gold Coast.
Cartwright, 25, relocated to New South Wales last September with his now ex-wife and their two children, Koa and Naia, citing personal reasons.
Despite the support of some fellow footballers and their partners, the couple s outspoken beliefs about vaccinations, particularly on social media, were widely condemned by a number of doctors and medical experts in 2020.
The Cartwright s going their separate ways also comes as Australia prepares for its largest vaccination roll out in a bid to stop Covid in its tracks.
