Johnson Co Schools to Remain All-Virtual Monday and Tuesday
According to the Johnson Co School District, due to the devastation caused by the three winter storms that have led to continued power outages and several snow/ice covered roads, we have to alter our school plans. The Johnson Co School District will operate using JC Click-&-Soar Remote on Monday, Feb 22 and Tuesday, Feb 23. Students who do not have electricity will be given extended time to complete assignments. Students who do not have electricity and have transportation to school may contact their child’s teacher to schedule time to come to school on Monday and Tuesday for instructional support.

Boyd Co Coroner Mark Hammond says two elderly women in Boyd Co were without power and heat for too long and died from hypothermia. The deaths happened over the weekend, as outages continued in the area. Power crews say service isn’t expected to be fully restored for another week. According to the Floyd Co Sheriffâs Office, 6 people were arrested over the weekend on charges related to heroin, fentanyl and other illegal drugs. Floyd Co Sheriff John Hunt and Deputies responding to several tips and complaints of illegal drug activity in the Ivel community. On Friday, Feb 19 Deputies made a traffic stop on US 23 at Ivel. Deputies discovered that one of the occupants in that vehicle was a fugitive and wanted out of Illinois. Deputies also found illegal drugs in the vehicle and both occupants were arrested on numerous drug charges. Later Friday night early Saturday (Feb 20) morning, Deputies again made a stop on a vehicle in the Ivel community and soon discovered that the occupant inside that vehicle was wanted on parole violation charges. Deputies also discovered fentanyl, heroin and other drugs along with drug paraphernalia. On Saturday evening Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the Ivel C
