WOOD RIVER Nearly 75,000 people in Madison County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination, according to figures released Tuesday by the Illinois Department of Health.
The IDPH reported 73,066 vaccinations had been recorded as of Monday. That included 50,704 first vaccine doses or 19.17% of the population given and 22,362 residents, or 8.46% of the population, fully vaccinated.
The Madison County Health Department has said the actual number of both vaccinations is higher than the IDPH figures.
Madison County residents who have internet and computer access should schedule their COVID-19 appointments at www.madisonchd.org. People who do not use a computer can call 618-650-8445 for first dose appointments when available.

WOOD RIVER More than 68,000 Madison County residents had receive at least one COVID-19 vaccination as of Sunday morning, according to the Illinois Deepartment of Public Health.
The Madison County Health Department held vaccination clinics Saturday and Sunday at Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey. The health department also is planning vaccinations at LaMay’s Catering in Alton on Monday and the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville on Monday and Tuesday.

WOOD RIVER Nearly 50,000 COVID-19 vaccinations had been given in Madison County as of Sunday morning, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The IDPH reported Sunday that 49,420 COVID-19 vaccinations have been given in the county. There were 39,062 first vaccine doses or 13.6% of the population given, as well as 10,358 second vaccine doses, or 3.92% of the population.
The IDPH also reported that 10.62% of Macoupin County had received both doses of the vaccine. Other fully vaccinated rates included Calhoun County at 9.5%, Jersey County at 12.64% and Greene County at 9.45%.
On Sunday the IDPH reported 2,740,105 doses of vaccine had been delivered to providers in Illinois. About 443,700 doses have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities. This brings the total Illinois doses to 3,183,805.

WOOD RIVER A Greene County woman in her 50s was among the 102 COVID-19 related deaths reported Thursday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Late Wednesday the Madison County Health Department reported there were no new COVID-19 related deaths in the county, leaving the death toll at 450.
There are sometimes discrepancies in the number of cases and deaths reported at the state and local levels, in part because of the volume of cases, and also as each local department forwards the information and it is verified. Local health officials have said the cases eventually reconcile as the reporting catches up.
