WOOD RIVER A Greene County woman in her 50s was among the 102 COVID-19 related deaths reported Thursday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Late Wednesday the Madison County Health Department reported there were no new COVID-19 related deaths in the county, leaving the death toll at 450.
There are sometimes discrepancies in the number of cases and deaths reported at the state and local levels, in part because of the volume of cases, and also as each local department forwards the information and it is verified. Local health officials have said the cases eventually reconcile as the reporting catches up.

WOOD RIVER Two new COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County were among the 40 reported Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The IDPH reported the Madison County deaths of a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s.
The Madison County Health Department reported seven COVID-19 related deaths Friday and Saturday. Friday’s deaths included a woman in her 70s, two women in their 80s annd a man in his 90s. Saturday’s deaths included three men, in their 50s, 60s and 70s.
