MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office found the remains of a 1-month-old baby boy who had been reported missing earlier this week.
Investigators released the following statement Wednesday night:
Preliminary Statement on Missing Infant On May 12, 2021 shortly after the press conference on one month old Caleb Michael Whisnand Jr., his remains were discovered by law enforcement. As a result, information was developed and the child’s father, Caleb Michael Whisnand Sr. was subsequently arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on charges of Manslaughter, with a bond amount of $100,000. Currently, the specifics of this case remain under investigation and all further details and inquires will be released on Thursday

ANNISTON, Ala. (WBRC) - Governor Ivey traveled to Anniston Wednesday to take part in National Law Enforcement Memorial Week.
Law enforcement from all across the state gathered to honor 11 officers who lost their lives while serving and protecting their communities. Their names were added to the Alabama Law Enforcement Memorial Wall at Centennial Park during the 5th Annual Alabama Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.
“Here are some heroes right here,” says Dr. C.O. Grinstead. “You want to pattern your life after somebody, find one of these folks out here.”

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Mobile Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Liz Angelique Ramos.
Ramos is described as a 4′2″ Hispanic female weighing 130 pounds.
She was last seen on March 5 in the area of Pascagula Road in Theodore, Alabama and may be in danger.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - UAB’s Dr. Sarah Nafziger announced Thursday that the UAB COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Hoover Met will close. The last day will be May 18, 2021. Other clinics will close in May and June.
Nafziger said the UAB vaccine clinics cost about $1.4 million a month to run, and there aren’t enough people coming out to get shots.
Right now the UAB clinics are open with no appointments needed. They will also now administer the Pfizer vaccine to children ages 12-15.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A former high school band director plead guilty Tuesday to a charge of School Employee Distributing Obscene Material to a Student.
Ashlee Steinman is the former band director at Chilton County High School. She was originally arrested for sex with a student.
The plea agreement dismissed that charge.
Court records show Steinman was sentenced to no contact with the victim in the case.
