Trains services resume at Sydney Airport train stations after police operation

Services have resumed at the Sydney Airport domestic and international train stations after police searched the area following a threat.
Passengers had earlier been evacuated from both platforms for the police operation, which resulted in nothing being found.
A NSW Police spokesperson said the search resulted from a threat being received, however, the nature of the threat was not outlined. Police had earlier said the operation was precautionary.
Flights at the airport were unaffected, however, travellers were told to seek other means of transport and allow extra time to get to and from the airport.
Police are appealing for support following the disappearance of a university student from Sydney s south.
Zhou Wu, 24, was last heard from when he texted his family in China last Saturday on May 8.
Zhou attends university in Sydney s eastern suburbs and is known to frequent the areas of Croydon Park, Wolli Creek and Ashfield.

Your story identifies another major flaw in the already shambolic vaccine rollout scheme (“Clinics say sorry after patients told they could forfeit doses”, April 8). It is all very well for GPs to be texting their own patients and placing them on waitlists but where does that leave people whose GPs are not COVID vaccination hubs? There is no clinic in my area offering vaccines to the general public. Calls to out-of-area clinics have proved fruitless.

Clean Up Australia Day – Bayside
Seven sites have already been nominated and registered for Clean Up Australia Day in the Bayside Local Government Area with more expected over the next few days.
“It’s not too late to register a site, or join a team if residents, clubs or organisations want to join in or sign up to lend a hand,” Bayside Mayor Joe Awada said.
“Last year in Bayside our volunteers collected, and council disposed of, approximately 3,000 kg of waste on the day.
“Council will also be contacting all registered sites to ensure they have their clean-up kit, are familiar with the area and know where to leave the waste for Council to collect at the end of the day,” Mayor Awada said.
