As it looks to tap into what it believes is an increasingly lucrative TV as a Service (TVaaS) sector, end-to-end video streaming expert 24i has acquired Danish pay-TV platform specialist Nordija.
Claimed to be a Danish pioneer in the Scandinavian IPTV development, Nordija has been in service for more than 20 years and develops and markets software designed to help telcos, cable TV operators and Internet service providers deliver a “rich, interactive” TV and video-on-demand experience. The software combines a back-end and a HTML 5 front-end which provides the TV user experience and integrates various third party TV and video systems into one homogenous service delivery platform.

Syn Q1 revenue falls but EBITDA rises, plans more infrastructure sales in 2021 Thursday 13 May 2021 | 12:21 CET | News Vodafone Iceland s parent company Syn has announced a fall in revenue and a rise in EBITDA in the first quarter of 2021, when it sold its Faroese associate and also agreed the sale and lease-back of the Icelandic passive mobile infrastructure. CEO Heidar Gudjonsson said Syn plans to sell more infrastructure this year but it is already clear that it can pay up the debt stemming from the purchase of assets from 365 as well as buying back shares. This is in line with its strategic plan to be customer-centric and to simplifying its business, Gudjonsson said.
