A WOMAN has been banned from driving after she crashed her car into a wall while drunk. Mandy Owen, 54, of Mill Street, Newport, admitted drink driving when she appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday (December 18). It followed a car crash in Ryde in the early hours of November 20, on the junction of Alexandra Road and St John s Hill. The car, a Suzuki, collided with a garden wall at a residential property. Police found Owen to be nearly three times the drink drive level, with a reading of 101 in breath when the legal limit is 35. She was banned from driving for 26 months and made subject of a 12-month community order to include 90 hours of unpaid work.
