THE inaugural Diamond Races has been postponed to 2022 due to Covid. Organisers had been hopeful the event would go ahead as planned in October this year, but Covid has wrought havoc organiser Paul Sandford confirmed to the County Press today. While no date has been set for 2022, he confirmed the event will not now take place this year. It follows the news that the Isle of Man TT has also been postponed. Diamond Races, a time-trial event, was hopeful of a crowd of between 25,000 to 45,000 which could provide the Island with a £12 million cash boost.

Work has begun to demolish redundant farm buildings at the Isle of Wight Council s former Branstone Farm Studies Centre at Apse Heath.
A range of Island businesses and organisations has been involved in creating a new £13.6 million scheme including affordable housing, an outdoor education area, new green space, a rural business park area, and a new brewery and visitor centre for Goddard’s Brewery.
Nature and sustainability are at the heart of this flagship regeneration scheme which the Isle of Wight Council and its partners hope will serve as an exemplar for future development on the Island.

An NCA spokesman said the 63-year-old businessman and former president of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce paid £5,511 in 127 transactions to accounts in the Philippines between May 2015 and April 2017 to pay for the live images.

An NCA spokesman said the 63-year-old businessman and former president of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce paid £5,511 in 127 transactions to accounts in the Philippines between May 2015 and April 2017 to pay for the live images.
Investigators found he had also repeatedly paid one woman for the abuse of two young girls, one aged 10, between May 2018 and February 2019.

It follows a major National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation which uncovered the most heinous abuse of children thousands of miles away .
Between May 2015 and April 2017, Mr Tomlinson - a 63-year-old former president of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce - paid £5,511 via 127 transactions to accounts in the Philippines, the NCA found.
