Malting firm Viking Malt Group announced Tuesday that work has commenced on a new, €90 million malting house in Lahti, Finland. A company release said a ceremony was held at the site to mark the placement of the facility’s foundation stone.
Slated to go into operation in 2023, the facility will have a capacity of about 85,000 tn/yr. The company said the opening of the new plant provides an opportunity to implement new technology that will increase efficiency and offer environmental benefits.
