Birds of prey: Red kite killed with shotgun near Cirencester | Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard

Police say they will deal with the person who shot a protected bird of prey near Cirencester robustly  for their unacceptable crime . A Red Kite was shot close to the village of Salperton with what police believe to be a shotgun on March 12. The bird was still alive, but unable to fly and was taken to the Vale Wildlife Hospital. The severity of it s injuries meant the bird had to be euthanised. PC Ash Weller from the Rural Crime Team said: This is an unacceptable crime and one which will be dealt with robustly if the offender is identified. An X-ray of the bird revealed multiple bone fractures caused by the lead shot, therefore suggesting a shotgun was used.

A BEAUTIFUL red kite has been rehabilitated and released after it was deliberately targeted and shot last month. The RSPCA inspector who rescued the injured bird filmed the magical moment the rare bird was released back into the wild after a month of rehabilitation. Found at the side of the A470 in Builth Wells on March 16, the bird was safely captured by Ms Smith before being taken to Vale Wildlife Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre to be assessed.

Is a Chipmunk Pig a Real Hybrid Animal?

While this video originated with an account dubbed “Official TikTok Science,” this video is officially a joke.  The @officialtiktokscience account states in its bio that it is a “satire” account: This TikTok account used footage from a variety of sources in order to create their “chipmunk pig hybrid” video. For example, the footage near the end of the video showing this “chipmunk pig” eating from a small jar of food comes form a 2017 news story about an abandoned baby boar not a chipmunk pig who was nursed back to health by the Vale Wildlife Hospital in the United Kingdom.  Metro reported at the time:
