CommUNITY Cleanup hailed as a success by organizers NeighborWorks Great Falls and last updated 2021-05-12 12:45:27-04 GREAT FALLS — Last week, NeighborWorks Great Falls hosted its annual CommUNITY Cleanup, starting with a free community shred day sponsored by Montana Credit Union. More than 16,000 pounds of personal information was shredded and properly disposed. NeighborWorks Great Falls said in a news release that 24 sites around Great Falls were cleaned up by 15 teams of volunteers, with the Malmstrom Air Force Base Dirt Boyz picking up rubbish along 56 miles of roads. Vanessa Hayden of Vision Net said, “We care about the communities we live and work in so we’re always looking for opportunities to make our community better.” Vision Net’s team of volunteers spent several hours on Friday picking up debris along the River’s Edge Trail.

Among the volunteers were Vision Net employees picking up garbage at Garden Home Park along the west bank of the Missouri River at 601 Bay Drive. We care about the communities that we live and work in, so we are always looking for opportunities to make our communities better,” explained group leader Vanessa Hayden. NeighborWorks Great Falls director Sherrie Arey noted, Even on a rainy day, it s the best day to be in Great Falls, so we think there ll be plenty of people that are still willing to come out and work through some of the sprinkles we might have.”

NeighborWorks holding CommUNITY Cleanup weekend of May 7 View Comments NeighborWorks Great Falls will be holding its annual CommUNITY Cleanup on May 7 and 8. The organization is encouraging both businesses and community members to help clean winter debris in the city.  “The whole point is for both residences and businesses to sort of look out their front door and say ‘hey, what do I need to do to clean up my neighborhood, or make my business look better to the public,’” said NeighborWorks Director of Community Initiatives and Grants Management Carol Bronson.  On May 6, Montana Credit Union will be hosting a “Shred Day” where from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. people can bring personal papers to be shredded for free in the parking lot of their location on 14th Street. There will be a limit of four boxes per household.
