Secret ballot to be proposed at contentious Wareham Town Meeting Saturday
Wicked Local
WAREHAM – Selectmen Chairman Peter Teitelbaum said he will motion for a secret ballot at Saturday’s special town meeting to consider the proposed zoning change to create the Hospitality, Recreation and Entertainment overlay district.
Teitelbaum said during Tuesday’s Selectmen’s meeting that Town Moderator Claire Smith and her staff would be able to provide for a secret ballot if Town Meeting voters approve it.
If not, they will proceed in the accustomed manner.
He added no backpacks will be allowed for security reasons. The TM will be held outside at Spillane Field, starting promptly at noon.
