Van Wert Health announces a scholarship opportunity for 2021 graduating high school students. The Medical and Healthcare Scholarship Program was founded to support the growth and development of students from all sectors of the human healthcare industry.

Van Wert Health, which first implemented visitor restrictions in March 2020 to help control the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, on Thursday announced it will begin to lift some of those restrictions. The new visitation guidelines detailed below went into effect Friday, February 26.
Visiting hours are daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Pediatric Inpatient
Two healthy adult primary caregivers may accompany pediatric patients. Caregivers are invited to stay in a patient’s room for the entire duration of a patient’s stay.

VAN WERT – Van Wert Health, which first implemented visitor

below go into effect Friday, Feb. 26.

Lima man flees after robbing Laudick s Jewelry; suspect caught Karl Allan Kehler Jr.
VAN WERT – At 12:21 p.m. on Friday, the Van Wert Police Department
received a call of a robbery that occurred at 1244 S. Shannon St. at
Laudick’s Jewelry.
The suspect, Karl Allan Kehler Jr., 59, of Lima, entered Laudick’s Jewelry and left with a diamond valued at $9,000.
After fleeing from Laudick s, Kehler departed left going northbound on South Shannon Street. A Van Wert Police Department unit located the vehicle traveling north on North Jefferson Street. Kehler failed to stop for the officer s lights and sirens.
A citizen informed VWPD that Kehler s vehicle, which entered US 30 going east, turned off on the Lincoln Highway exit, and re-entered US 30 westbound.
