Lima man flees after robbing Laudick s Jewelry; suspect caught Karl Allan Kehler Jr. VAN WERT – At 12:21 p.m. on Friday, the Van Wert Police Department received a call of a robbery that occurred at 1244 S. Shannon St. at Laudick’s Jewelry. The suspect, Karl Allan Kehler Jr., 59, of Lima, entered Laudick’s Jewelry and left with a diamond valued at $9,000. After fleeing from Laudick s, Kehler departed left going northbound on South Shannon Street. A Van Wert Police Department unit located the vehicle traveling north on North Jefferson Street. Kehler failed to stop for the officer s lights and sirens. A citizen informed VWPD that Kehler s vehicle, which entered US 30 going east, turned off on the Lincoln Highway exit, and re-entered US 30 westbound.
