With COVID-19 cancelling its annual Christmas parade, the Honeoye Falls Fire Department decided to hold a decorating contest to spread Christmas cheer.
The department had 15 entries total, some from families and some from businesses. The contest was open to both residents and businesses in Honeoye Falls and Lima. All the department asked for was a small donation for each entry which went to the local food cupboard and to the Rotary Clubs.

As American Legion members, one of their responsibilities is to look out for each other and their fellow veterans. As a way to reach out to members and veterans, a resolution was instituted saying Legion members should conduct “Buddy Checks” on fellow Legion members and veterans in the community.
Honeoye Falls Post #664 has been doing this throughout this pandemic. These are examples of the two most recent instances.
The Legion members constructed a ramp for a fellow veteran to make it easier to enter and leave his home for his wife. One of the members, Dennis Roy, supervised the construction and it was accomplished in one day. Thanks to Dennis and volunteers, the member and his wife had easier access to their home at no cost to them.
