Photo by Courtesy of City of Spruce Grove Article content The City of Spruce Grove is spreading the word about a new bylaw with an engaging and unique approach. The Single Use Items Reduction bylaw is aimed at reducing the amount of plastic in our environment. It comes into effect January 1, 2022, and was approved Spruce Grove council at the end of February. The bylaw will ban the use of plastic checkout bags, plastic straws, and polystyrene food service ware, and the city wants to use the remaining months in 2021 to allow for businesses and residents to transition to new ways of operating, shopping, and dining.
