Wayne County Fair brightens Event Center for visitors
Grant helps with landscaping, parking, lighting
WOOSTER Things are a little brighter at the Wayne County Fair Event Center.
The Wayne County Fair board recently received a little more than $50,000 in grant money from the Wayne County Community Foundation to improve the center, which opened in 2019, for its visitors. Improvements included landscaping, electricity and parking. WCCF Trustees appreciated that the Event space would be available to all Wayne County citizens and that the Wayne County Fair itself is important to a great many individuals and families in Wayne County, said Sara Patton, executive director of the Wayne County Community Foundation, in an email.

Saturday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. - OSTPA Truck and Tractor Pull
Sunday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. - Parmalee
Monday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. - Crowder
Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. - Full Rodeo
Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. - Demolition Derby
Christian and country music set to rock the grandstand
Parmalee will welcome music back to the fairgrounds on the second night of the fair. The band from North Carolina is composed of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, their cousin, Barry Knox, and lifelong best friend Josh McSwain.

Chamber event will take place April 24 and 25
The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 30th annual home and garden show on April 24 and 25 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. The show will open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking for the event are free.
Some vendors also will find new accommodations as the spring show takes advantage of the fairgrounds’ newest facilities, the event center and the agriculture building. The move will shift the focus of the event from the grandstand area to the south side of the fairgrounds.
