A Freedom of Information request submitted by
Palatinate has revealed the names of individuals who have generously donated more than one million pounds to the University since 2015.
Mark J. Hillery, a Collingwood alumnus and hedge fund manager, has donated almost £7m to Durham University since 2015. Hillery directs his large donations exclusively to Collingwood College. He has personally funded a 200-seater arts centre, a gym extension, a yoga/pilates studio, an enlarged junior common room, and a bar conservatory.
Food wholesale boss Charles Wilson pledged £6m towards local scholarships, Durham Business School, and The Institute of Hazard Risk and Resilience in October 2019. Wilson is a Grey college alumnus and studied Geography between 1983 and 1986 at Durham.
Winners of musical talent hunt announce

Islamabad:Pakistan National Council of the Ats (PNCA) on Monday announced the winners of PNCA Talent Hunt Programme to discover best singers and musicians from across the country.
On daily basis hundreds of aspirants were giving auditions at PNCA under the supervision of different maestros. Winner of People’s choice was Abdul Manan while winner of Jury Award were Farhan Ali and Ofaz Yousaf, an official told APP.
He said that renowned professionals and master artisans in different specialized music fields were taking auditions of registered participants at PNCA. He said that the programme would continue in month of February to provide a platform to the young enthusiasts to discover and polish their talent in different music forms.
