If you didn t vote in the Queensland State Election last October, you might be thinking you ve dodged a bullet. But you haven’t.
The Electoral Commission of Queensland is combing through records to track down those who failed to vote and take action.
But the fallout might not be as bad as you think. When it comes to dishing out punishments, the ECQ is much more loving parent than angry headmaster, as the ABC s David Iliffe discovered when speaking with Assistant Electoral Commissioner Wade Lewis.

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) A now-former pharmacist in Roanoke will spend a year and a day behind bars for tampering with narcotics.
Bryan Wade Lewis, 34, of Roanoke pleaded guilty in September to one count of tampering with the consumer product hydromorphone.
Lewis faced up to 10 years in prison but was sentenced to serve one year and one day.
“Tampering with powerful narcotics can harm patients and will not be tolerated,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Daniel P. Bubar.
