No injuries were reported, but Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck said investigators were summoned following the fire about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Walmart Supercenter on Boulder Highway, several miles southeast of downtown. Steinbeck said a pallet of paper goods burned, causing sprinklers and alarms to activate. He said firefighters removed four skylights to let smoke escape. Last week, Las Vegas fire officials said arson was the cause of a smoky fire that injured one person as shoppers fled a different Walmart store, west of downtown.

Ray Spencer told News 3. Fire crews arrived to find a white male, believed to be in his 40s, deceased inside a home suffering multiple injuries, though the extent and details were not revealed. A preliminary investigation indicated that an individual tried to cover up a crime scene with a fire which prompted Las Vegas Metropolitain Police to launch a homicide investigation.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said the injured person was taken to a hospital after sprinklers activated and firefighters arrived to douse flames in the paper towel aisle Sunday evening at the Walmart Supercenter several miles west of downtown. Fire officials on Monday estimated structural damage at about $10,000 but said water and smoke damage to items in the store was about $200,000. Arson investigators were reviewing store security video and did not immediately release information about possible suspects in the case.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue says a fire was reported Sunday shortly before 8 p.m. in the paper towel aisle of a Walmart Supercenter on Charleston Boulevard. Firefighters managed to contain the fire to within the aisle and extinguish it. They say one person was injured while trying to leave the store. That person was treated by an ambulance at the scene. Investigators have not released a cause for the blaze. An estimate of damages also wasn t immediately known Monday.
