Local health chiefs said that, in partnership with the Isle of Wight Council, the new site was quickly brought online. The health groups involved were the NHS Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group and the North East Locality Primary Care Network (PCN).

THE vaccination hub in the Westridge Centre in Ryde has moved just metres away to a new and improved location in the former Waltzing Waters part of the building. NHS Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group and the North East Locality Primary Care Network (PCN) have worked in partnership with the Isle of Wight Council to bring the site together. The former Waltzing Waters building has been completely renovated to provide people with a clinically safe and efficient environment in which they can receive their Covid-19 vaccination. The new location officially opened on Thursday and is vaccinating people here, with the former site in the learning centre, now closed for vaccinations.

Riverside Centre added to list of local Covid vaccine centres

The site joins the network of local vaccination centres and the St Mary s Hospital hub already in operation. These are Carisbrooke Health Centre, West Wight Sport and Community Centre, Westridge Centre in Ryde and The Bay Medical Practice in Shanklin. The NHS will contact people when it is their turn. People will need an appointment to get their vaccine, and most people will be invited by letter from their GP practice or the national programme. Dr Dan Baylis, chief medical officer at Solent NHS Trust, who is running the vaccination centres, said: We are proud that Solent NHS Trust has been asked to support the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccination programme across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
