The good professor
He’s a real lefty. And, of course, he bashed Trump.
The professor likes to tout his accomplishments.
There’s nothing wrong with accomplishments, and I admire his. But I think if would be more beneficial for him to encourage his students to pursue their own accomplishments rather than push his leftist agenda. Aren’t schools supposed to teach critical thinking?
My critical thinking is to get opinions from all sides and then make up my own mind. That’s why I flip around and watch Fox News, CNN, ABC, NBC and so forth.

Jeb Bladine: Politics run hot with Westsider Trail talks
Long-time backers of the Yamhelas Westsider Trail are heartened by recent outpourings of public support for development of the 17-mile recreational trail between (just northeast of) McMinnville and Gaston.
That kind of support would have been even more welcome last May. That’s when Yamhill County voters elected Lindsay Berschauer, an avowed opponent of the trail, to join trail critic Mary Starrett as a majority of the Yamhill County Commission.
Whatchamacolumn
Berschauer, a political consultant who cut her teeth in the Metro area serving conservative and Republican groups, seemingly was recruited three years earlier to boost Commissioner Starrett’s grip on county politics.

The Newberg Graphic s readers have a lot to say about the Yamhelas Westsider Trail this week.
Yamhelas Westsider Trail would be a boon to the county
To the editor:
We are Newberg residents and greatly hopeful for the Yamhelas Westsider Trail. We have three young children and enjoy biking and walking as a way to get out and about. With the current COVID rules in place, having places to do so is now more important than ever.
There are few areas in the local vicinity for longer walking/biking adventures (beyond city parks). We visit Champoeg often, but variety adds greatly to life. And that s it. In the local area, Champoeg is our longer biking option, short of having our 3-year-old ride down the highway. I am hoping I am simply ignorant of others, but outside of Champoeg we must travel. It would be great to have another trail, for family biking, in the local area and within a short drive.
