MANCHESTER, NJ The Manchester Township Council approved a $625,000 bond ordinance to renovate the former Whiting Volunteer First Aid Squad building at its meeting Monday evening.
The first aid squad building is being used to house the Manchester Township Police EMS, which started operating in March, right before the pandemic struck.
The township s EMS squad has performed as it was intended, providing quick response times for Manchester residents during emergencies. In September, the council approved a $750,000 bond ordinance to purchase new ambulances because the ones the EMS was using were rapidly reaching their maximum mileage.
