The bodies of a young brother and sister who were murdered earlier this month in Gainesville will be returned to Mexico for funeral services.
Mateo Miranda Jaramillo, 5, and Katherine Miranda Jaramillo, 6, were found stabbed to death at their home on Crescent Drive on Friday, Dec. 11. Hall County Sheriff s Office investigators said the children s mother was also found at the scene with cuts on her body; she was taken to the hospital and later charged with the slayings of her children.
Both Mateo and Katherine were students at White Sulphur Elementary School on Old Cornelia Highway in Hall County.
Locally, Hillside Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on McEver Road in Gainesville is coordinating services for the children.

Funeral services will be held in Mexico for two White Sulphur Elementary School students who authorities said were killed by their mother at their Hall County home earlier this month, according to obituaries for the children.
Katherine Jaramillo, 6, and Mateo Jaramillo, 5, were found dead around 2 p.m. Dec. 11 at a home on Crescent Drive in northeast Hall County, after police responded to a report that a woman had cut herself.

GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA: A mother of two has now been charged for killing both of her children before cutting herself in the neck on Friday, December 11.
26-year-old, Berenice Jaramillo-Hernandez allegedly stabbed her children 5-year-old Mateo Miranda Jaramillo and 6-year-old Katherine Miranda Jaramillo on Friday, after that she punctured her own neck. She was later hospitalized with severe injuries and was booked into the Hall County Jail on Sunday, December 13. After her release from the medical facility, she was charged with the murder, according to the police statement.
Hernandez will be facing two counts each of felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault for the alleged killing. According to a report by The Gainesville Times, the local police responded to a report that a woman had cut herself at her home in northeast Hall County at about 2 pm on December 11. The Department of Police found tha
