Apr 10, 2021 Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, is dead. He died at age 50 following an overdose this month. On April 2nd, he was admitted to a hospital in White Plains, New York after suffering an overdose that led to a heart attack. Paramedics spent 30 minutes trying to resuscitate him, but the half-hour without oxygen caused severe brain damage, leaving him in a vegetative state until his passing. The Yonkers, New York rapper was born in Mount Vernon, New York on December 18th, 1970. He rose to fame as a member of the hardcore hip-hop collective  The Ruff Ryders.  In the late 90s into the early 2000s, he was a dominant force in the music industry as part of the Ruff Ryders collective.
