Innisfree Garden, Millbrook
This 185-acre oasis is one of the great outdoor treasures of the Hudson Valley. In every season, there is a spectacular painterly quality to the landscape and a sense of utter calm. It takes about 90 minutes to walk around the 40-acre glacial lake that forms the centerpiece of the property.
The garden opens on April 24 and 25 for members only, and then the following weekend, May 1 and 2, it opens for everyone. Starting on May 8, they will resume their regular schedule of Wednesdays through Sundays and legal holidays. The regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once again, they are asking for people to reserve online; go to their website for more information. Springfield Garden Club sets up ‘Movie Club’

The Springfield Garden Club is growing a new program: the Virtual Gardening Movie Club.
Participants watch a designated movie streamed or on DVD borrowed from a library on their own at their convenience then join a Zoom cocktail hour and discussion.
“Gardening is a heart-healthy addiction. It creates a feeling of peace, of joy, that restores the souls of those who choose, on a regular basis, to stick their fingers in the dirt,” said club member Vana Nespor. “The Springfield Garden Club determined last spring that our connection and the sharing of that joy and that peace would not be stopped during this difficult year or these frozen months.”
