May 10, 2021 WELLSVILLE Pauline Josephine Little, 95, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was born March 18, 1926, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose (Mendle) Daddario. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death in 1978, by her husband, Ural Little, whom she married in March of 1947. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Theresa Saracco, Rosaline Soldano, and Mary DeProspero. Pauline graduated from Wellsville High School in 1944. She was employed as a liner for the former Sterling China Company. Pauline was an active member of the community and enjoyed the time she spent volunteering with the Ladies Auxillary at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church.

Missouri College Trustee Resigns After Battery Arrest By   Mark Samsel, a Kansas state representative, resigned from his position on the Missouri Valley College Board of Trustees five days after he was arrested and charged with battery after allegedly kicking a high school student, FOX 2 Now reported. Videos show Samsel ranting at students and talking about sex and suicide and using profanity while substitute teaching at Wellsville High School. Students said Samsel also shoved a teenage boy and kicked him in the groin, parents told FOX 2. Missouri Valley College officials confirmed to the television station that they asked Samsel to resign. The Wellsville school district said Samsel will no longer be able to substitute teach there, and Kansas House leadership is looking into what happened.

Apr 5, 2021 SALEM Paul A. Hood passed away peacefully Saturday, April 3, 2021 following illness and complications following cancer surgery. Paul was born Jan. 17, 1950 to the late Herb Hood and Agnes Sell. He was a graduate of Wellsville High School and pursued higher education at the University of Mount Union as well as Miami University and Kent State University. He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife of 42 years, Jennifer (Dye) Hood, as well as his admiring daughter, Christina (Hood) Douglas; son-in-law, Michael Douglas, and two cherished grandchildren, Jaxson and Brooklynn. Paul is also survived by his loving sister, Cathy Hood; niece Alex Hiser, and nephew, Daniel Hiser, all of whom he truly enjoyed spending time with and he looked forward to their every visit.
