Like Faith, Olivia said goodbye to
Idol during the first week of remote shows in 2020. But it was her take on
Tori Kelly s Language during her audition that really got the judges attention when first meeting the talented artist. If she brings that kind of energy on Monday, it ll be tough to beat Olivia this year. 5 Nick Merico

American Idol revealed its top 16 on Sunday night, but when the top 10 is set, it’ll look somewhat familiar.
That’s because, for the first time, the show is bringing back 10 contestants from last season to compete for the final spot in the top 10. The “comeback contestants” will sing for America’s vote on the show’s April 19 episode, and voting will continue through April 26. At the end, one will be left standing to go head-to-head with this year’s hopefuls.
Among the returning contestants is
Arthur Gunn, who was last year’s runner-up; he lost to
CBS daytime show,
The Talk, returned on Monday. This was the first show in one month. Production went on hiatus while CBS investigated
Sharon Osbourne. They parted ways with Sharon getting a $10 million golden parachute.
Sheryl Underwood addressed the elephant in the room, (quote) “We need to process the events, so we can get to the healing. By the end of the hour, we want everyone to feel ready to move forward.”
Underwood confirmed Sharon’s account that her apologetic texts went unanswered. She told
The Talk audience that she declined to respond because of the ongoing CBS investigation. Sheryl added, (quote) “If Sharon greeted me warmly, I would give her that in the same. I want people to understand when you’re friends, you stay friends.”
