Filming for the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which is currently being shown on BBC Three, had to be suspended in March 2020, when the first national lockdown was implemented in England.
At the end of episode four, show host RuPaul explained: “In light of the rapidly changing coronavirus situation, we must cease filming immediately. Drag queens know a thing or two about survival so stay safe and I pray we’ll be back together soon, even stronger than before.”

While the Bananadrama’s performance was lacklustre compared to the United Kingdolls’ version, the fashion choices made by the team were really what RuPaul was focused on.
In particular, Michelle Visage was highly disappointed in Joe Black’s boring look, that comprised of a finger wave wig and a pink dress that “looked like it could’ve been bought off the rack at Primark, no joke.”
After Joe jokingly interjected that the dress had actually been purchased from H&M, RuPaul popped the fuck off and channelled the energy of Tyra Banks’ infamous “I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU”

The Queens of RuPaul's Drag Race UK are back after a seven-month break of filming due to the pandemic and RuPaul re-opened the competition with a shock announcement: Veronica Green would not be returning to the competition due to a positive COVID test, leaving one space open in the competition… Disguised as the Brit Crew, previously eliminated queens Joe Black, Cherry Valentine and Asttina Mandella returned to set and pitched their claim for why they deserved to take back their place in the race. After a vote, the majority of the seven remaining queens chose Joe Black to continue competing alongside them in the Olympics of Drag.
